Schools & Unified Partners Young people are capable of conveying important information and helping to spread the message of the Special Olympics movement. The Special Olympics Schools & Youth initiative is committed to increasing the participation of youth without intellectual disabilities in Special Olympics activities by establishing school-based Special Olympics Programs and activities. Compete with an athlete as a Unified Partner: Unified Partner Form Families When brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents and others get involved in Special Olympics, they join millions of family members who not only support their loved ones, but also find a support structure themselves. Sometimes having a family member with intellectual disabilities can be very isolating, but by meeting other families, sharing experiences, and learning from one another helps change that. Special Olympics provides hope, knowledge, and community many families seek. Take advantage of the opportunities provided to your relative with intellectual disabilities in Special Olympics and become more involved as a coach, assistant coach, volunteer, or just there are practices and competitions to cheer, share the joy, and meet others.
