Message from Your County Coordinator
Each day in the news we hear of the economic challenges that businesses and families are being faced with, and this
eventually trickles down to non-profit organizations such as ours. During these times, it is even more crucial that we ban
together; in order to continue to grow and progress as a successful program.

Despite these tough economic times, our program has been blessed with many great opportunities! Within the last year,
we have received many large corporate donations and sponsorships, expanded our sports training programs, and for
the first time ever, we are embarking on a office for the program! We could not be where we are today without the
dedicated support of all the families, volunteers, sponsors and donors.

In this challenging state of economy, I ask that we all pull together as a community and continue to support the program
that means so much to our athletes! If you currently volunteer, THANK YOU! We appreciate all your dedication! If you
are donor or sponsor, THANK YOU! You are providing the “fuel” to make our program run. And to our families and
athletes, you are the heart and soul of this program. We hope you continue to participate, volunteer, and enjoy being a
part of this wonderful and inspirational program.

Summer Sports State Games - Spectator Tickets
I understand that for the first time since we have been having events at ESPN Wide World of Sports® Complex, demand
has outstripped supply using the online Spectator Pass ordering system.  Not sure what the reason is, but it is a good
thing...well, maybe not for those that are frustrated and think they will have to pay.  Clearly, we want all family members
    to be accommodated.

We ask that anyone needing a ticket email Laurie Moyson at lauriemoyson@sofl.org with their county name, and the
first and last names of everyone needing a ticket in their party (that have NOT previously registered).  She will ensure
that there is a ticket for everyone.  The deadline will be May 13, the last day we are in the office to receive such
    communication prior to Games.

Special Olympics Seminole County Job Posting
Special Olympics Seminole County has just received a grant that will allow the program to hire a part time County
Coordinator. In the past the program has been led by a team of all-star volunteers. They have built a strong foundation
that will allow the program to grow and that is exactly what we want to do; grow the program.  Because this is such an
important investment for the people with and without intellectual disabilities in Seminole County we are enlisting the help
of the community in our search for a part-time paid county coordinator.

Please feel free to pass on this job description to anyone who might be interested in applying. We hope to begin the
interviewing process by the beginning of August. We would also like to take this time to thank our current County
Coordinator Debbie Taylor for her years of dedicated and valuable service to SOSC. Without her, our program would
not be what it is today. Thank you Debbie!
